Below you will find information to help you figure out if your school would want to attend TechFest
For those who are new
TechFest was set up to help students in high school get a taste of the technical world. This is made possible by The Northeast Indiana Technology Coalition, the NEITC works with a number of local businesses and schools to host this event. We have successfully held 7 events with our most recent being in the fall of 2017. The event itself revolves around several STEM competitions. What is STEM? STEM is a collection of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math based curricula all put together to help students get prepared for a career in a related field. (Or sometimes just for fun). There are 7 events that we run every year that are the main competitive events, we refer to them as CUP Events. We also have non-competitive events to expose students to the real world side of STEM, we refer to these events as MAP Events.
In order for you school to compete and/or attend TechFest yo must first register your school HERE. Then once you have registered your school, teachers and students can begin to sign up via their respective sign up pages (STUDENTS SIGN-UP / TEACHERS SIGN-UP).
Here's how the day will go down.
TechFest is a majority-of-the-day event, meaning we open at 8:00am and close out between 2:00-3:00pm. This should be enough time for all the schools to arrive and dismiss within the normal bounds of a school day! After everyone arrives you have from 8:00-9:00am to check-in and meet in the main hall. Once we all gather the opening ceremonies will begin, accompanied by a guest speaker. From the main hall the schools will be dismissed to go compete in their events, attend breakout sessions, go meet some new faces at the college and career expo, or have an extreme interview. The events will run from 10:00am-12:30pm. Lunch will be available to everyone from 12:00pm-1:00pm. After lunch and the last of the events wrap up we all gather once again in the main hall for closing ceremonies. Where the winners will be announced and the TechFest Cup finds its home for the year!
